I received notice for additional tax and penalty for my state tax. I contacted Turbotax and a person looked at my return. He didn't point out that it was my mistake but closed the case nevertheless. I entered the data in question in my federal return correctly and state return was generated by Turbotax software. How do I claim penalty amount from Turbotax if it was not my mistake? I understand that you don't want to pay additional tax but you should pay penalties if it is your mistake. Who and how do I contact Turbotax regarding this matter or should I just go to consumer protection agencies? Thank you.
