Remember that the first downloadable version is unlikely to be complete or fully updated with all 2024 information. It usually requires one or more program updates throughout the winter before the program is fully ready to file a tax return. The basic forms are usually ready by January 7, but some more complicated forms may take longer. (This is also often due to IRS delays in releasing updated forms and instructions.)
