The foreign tax credit carryover from prior years will be entered under the Deductions & Credits tab within TurboTax Desktop.
- Log back into your TurboTax program and scroll down on the page titled "Your 2023 Deductions & Credits" until you see the section titled Estimates and Other Taxes Paid.
- Under this section, you will see Foreign Taxes. Select start/update to the right of this section.
- Be sure to answer yes to the question asking if you have credits to use from a prior year on the screen titled "Foreign Tax Credit."
- Proceed to answer the questions as prompted and be sure to say you want to take the foreign tax credit when prompted.
- After proceeding through a few more screens, you will reach a screen titled "Foreign Tax Credit Carryover." Enter the prior year amounts as applicable.
