I am getting this error. I found another thread that explains:
"The IRS will require a copy of your Form 1099-B if you’re reporting your transactions by sales section totals instead of reporting each one separately, and one of the following is true:
- You made adjustments to your investment income.
- Your cost basis isn’t reported to the IRS"
It seems I'm supposed to attach two 1099-Bs to my return. The instructions in that thread don't work (TurboTax never prompted me to upload my 1099-B). Anybody else have a workaround?
