TurboTax makes no distinction between a student, fast food worker or a retiree with regards to their free online tax filing program. TurboTax is free if you are under a certain income level, don't have any complex financials to deal with and don't use any of their optional features. You'll most likely have to file a paper copy of your Federal & State returns instead of e-filing. Sorry I can't be more specific, I purchased my copy because I knew I wouldn't qualify for their free service.
