I had a similar problem back in February. Turbotax For Business allowed me to pay for a state but then did not download it or report an issue. Turns out, Turbotax will not download the state until it is available which was not until 3/8. That might have been fine had the program actually popped up a message, but the way Turbotax handled it, you thought there was an error with the program. I wasted time reloading, reinstalling, getting the state repair tool....ALL BECAUSE INTUIT COULD NOT BE BOTHERED TO POP UP A MESSAGE.
Please check to make sure your state is actually available for use. Also, the 90% rule applies. If you have paid 90 percent of the taxes due in the previous tax, you will not be assessed penalties. That is easy to check and then pay whatever you are short. File for an extension immediately and then wait for Turbotax to release the form.
