Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Follow these steps. Post if you are seeing something different.
In TurboTax Desktop Premier, enter an IRS form 1099-INT by following these steps:
- Across the top of the screen, click on Federal Taxes.
- Across the top of the screen, click on Wages & Income.
- Select I'll choose what I work on.
- Scroll down to Interest and Dividends.
- Click Start / Update to the right of Interest on 1099-INT.
- At the screen Did you receive any interest income, Click Yes.
- Select Import from my bank or brokerage. Continue.
- At the screen Search for your financial institution, enter the bank or broker. Continue.
- Continue.
- At We'll open a tab, select OK.
- At the screen Let's import your tax info, select Get my form.
- At Connect Your Accounts, enter User ID and Password. Select Log in.
- Your broker may require you to confirm your identity.
- Connect Accounts.
- The screen says Connection complete! Success we got your tax data. You can now return to TurboTax.
- At the screen These documents are now ready for import, uncheck any items that you do not want included in your return. Select Import now.
- You will see a screen such as below. Other bank or broker statements may look different.
Or follow these steps:
- Across the top of the screen, click on Federal Taxes.
- Across the top of the screen, click on Wages & Income.
- Select I'll choose what I work on.
- Scroll down to Interest and Dividends.
- Click Start / Update to the right of Interest on 1099-INT.
- At the screen Did you receive any interest income, Click Yes.
- Select I'll type it in myself. Continue.
- At the screen Let's get your 1099-INT or brokerage statement details, enter information.
