Get your taxes done using TurboTax

It is 4/12, I started in May. I don't have a policy, I only signed up for Part A. This is enough to prevent me from contributing any more to my HSA, but I am still on my company's HDHP.  But on the interview in step-by-step I check 4/12 months for having HDHP and 'none' for the other months. Yes, it is confusing to me.

Thanks for the pointer to the HSA interview. I'm hoping I can put the $175 there (it is less than my premiums but is the extra I took out and I can say it was used on premiums). I'm hoping I can put 0 into the rollover box, since I didn't do a rollover.

I think I can get around the excess contribution problem by saying the excess goes to my wife's HSA. That seems to work and then it calculates the actual excess over the Medicare limit of 4 months correctly.

And again, it shouldn't create a 20% penalty since I turned 65.
Thanks again!
