Will NY accept my NY state return by mail? My federal e-filing keeps being rejected for "R0000-058-01 An XML document..." error, and it says print federal and mail it to IRS.
As other users also reported, I keep getting my e-filed federal return rejected because of the error "An XML document that represents a binary attachment must have a valid reference to an attached file. This return cannot be electronically processed. To file this return, print and mail it to the appropriate IRS Service Center". (I don't have any PDFs with special characters. The only attachment is1099 forms imported by Tarbotax with the document number and there is no way to change the file names). I called Turbotax customer service and the Rep said I should print and mail both federal and state. But after following all the steps, Turbotax still says you MUST file NY state electronically. E-filing NY state won't be accepted unless my federal being accepted, but I have to submit Federal by mail.
In this situation, will NY accept my state return by mail even generated by Turbotax? and Should I include my federal return to my package to Albany?
Thank you for your help.
