I have been married for nearly 5 years, but my wife was still listed as a Domestic Partner by my employer.
- Provided you filed your tax return as Married, or Married filing Separate.
- It will not be a problem with the IRS,
- But it may be wise to change it with your employer.
Is there a tax penalty for this on the health care insurance?
- If you have Marketplace insurance you must be caesious.
- The income is based on Household income.
- If you're married that would be both of you.
- If you did file together, you will know the result directly from the tax return.
I have a DPINS amount of over $7000 on my W2.
