I walked through the entire Personal Info for both people again, making sure that:
1. All my info was correct.
2. That I was married on December 31, 2023
3. That I want to file jointly
4. Didn't make money in other states, no dependents.
5. Edited spouse info, answering all of the same questions other than 2 and 3 above, which were obviously not asked, including SSN, etc.
The info page looks exacly as it should for filing a joint return as far as I can tell.
If I now go to any section, like Wages and Income, I see a column for 2022 and 2023, but no separate column for the spouse to enter info. If I drill INTO Wages and Income there is also no dual-column for spouse info. Oddly enough though, if I go into the W-2 section at the top, it says "Wayne and Jenn's W-2s" and I can apparently add a W-2 (which I don't need because the spouse does not have one), but there is no similar option for other income to pull in data (1099s of various types from my brokerage, for example) for a spouse.
Do you have a screenshot of what this should look like? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? And thanks for the fast response 🙂
Also, I wondering if having started the return as MFS made it so the ability to add spouse info even after changing to MFJ is just not possible in the software?
