To clarify, when you say the amendment was rejected, I assume you mean the e-file was rejected, in which case could you just elect to print and mail it? 

Once that's done, the software should update the contribution issue. 

 

The contribution to your TSP should have been pre-tax via payroll, so you wouldn't need to have entered anything more on your tax return. 

 

You could also start a new 2023 tax year return in a new TurboTax account and not forward tax year 2022, but then you would be starting from scratch. This might be an issue if you have anything that carries over year to year, and you will still need to correct the 2022 return so the non-existing Roth contribution and excess penalty does not show in the IRS records.
