Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Yes, you can enter those sales into TurboTax, even if you don't get a 1099-B showing them.
Here's how to do that:
- Sign in to TurboTax.
- Select Income & Expenses.
- Select Pick up where I left off or Start.
- Select Start or Update to the right of Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Bonds, Mutual Funds, Other.
- Answer the first question Yes, or if you already sales here, select Add more sales.
- Select Enter a different way.
- Select the Other tile, then Continue.
- Enter a description, then select Continue.
- Enter the details of the sales.
- Select Continue.
Your sales entered this way will show up on Form 8949 with code C, if they are short-term, or F if they are long-term. These codes mean that no 1099-B was received.
