I claimed a clean air tax credit on a vehicle I purchased in 2023. I filled out all the information in the Turbo Tax online questionnaire, and submitted my return. I received a letter today from the IRS stating:
"form 8396 SchA is incomplete or missing from your return. Complete the form with the information that supports your $4000 on line 6m of schedule 3. Also attach all supporting forms or schedules, as required."
I am confused I filled out everything in Turbo Tax, wouldn't the software have sent the information?
