Get your taxes done using TurboTax
I followed the "rounding" solution others said worked but it did NOT work today 3/16/24. I deleted the entire W-2, reentered the data manually without any decimal or cents, and I still get the same error message "Nonqualified Distribution (State ID) does not match with any states entered in Box 15. Box 15-20 are supposed to be blank. Typing in my home state ID to box 15 does not solve the problem, nor does leaving Box 11 state ID blank. This is clearly a programming error that affects many people and has still not been fixed after I called Turbotax yesterday 3/15/24, and the rep could not help me but said she'd relay my problem to the technical department.
I'm concerned about deliberately checking the wrong box: "No, this is money I contributed to my nonqualified or Section 457 plan." to get the error message to go away since all of us on this thread with this same problem are in the situation of "Yes, I took this money out of my nonqualified or Section 457 plan," which is what I checked. By checking the incorrect No box, what else does that affect in the tax return? We shouldn't be having to "trick" the program to get the nonsensical error message to go away. Turbotax should fix the programming problem. especially by now since people have been reporting the exact same error for weeks without it being fixed by the date Turbotax said it would. I am using Turbotax Premier desktop for PC.
