This works!

For me, none of the solutions given above worked in March of 2024.

 

But here's what did work:

 

1. When re-filing, there's a question that asks whether you have access to the prior year's 1040 forms.  Choose "No" or "I do not have last year's 1040" or whatever option is closest to that.  

2.  When you do so, you'll have the option of using another method of verification, one of which is to enter the prior year's PIN.  

3.  You'll be asked to enter those PINs for yourself and your spouse.  

 

After six attempts at using the various suggestions above and getting six rejections, this method of avoiding the use of the AGI worked for me.  May it help someone out there.  🙂
