Get your taxes done using TurboTax
You don't see it because it doesn't appear anywhere. Amounts entered in Box 9 of Form 1099-DIV do not flow to the tax return. You will have to enter it as an investment sale in the same way you would a transaction reported on Form 1099-B. To enter:
- Click on Search and type "Investment sales" in the search window and click Enter
- Click on "Jump to Investment sales"
- On the page with "Did you sell any investments in 202*?" Answer Yes
- Answer No to "Did you get a 1099-B..."
- Enter the name of broker that sent the 1099-DIV
- On the "Now we'll walk you through entering your sale details" Indicate "Stock" or something else if more appropriate
- The interview will walk you through entering the details of the sale
