I did in fact call E*Trade this morning and amazingly enough got a live person within just a couple of minutes. I'm not terribly optimistic that E*Trade will resolve it on their side; even though both sides are at fault it seems like more of an explicit bug on the TT side in that it won't let you edit the values.
If you haven't called E*Trade yet, maybe give them a call. Admittedly, I called at the crack of dawn but I still got a live person almost immediately. However (again) I think this is much more of a bug on TT side. It's bad enough that they completely biffed the new format E*Trade sent after the Morgan Stanley merger but to give us a dialogue box explicitly asking to change a code and then not allowing saving the new value is something that shouldn't have passed even the most rudimentary software QA process.
