I am deeply grateful for those who have called TT customer support on this Etrade issue, and reported back that it didn't work and the response was bot-like. You have saved the rest of us from the same unpleasant experience. Thank you thank you.
At this point, I would suggest that on these forums we agree on what are the specific bugs we would like TT to fix. I'll take a first shot:
The 1099-B download function is buggy in the sense that it does not validate data, nor allow users to change or even see incorrect information. Thus, the first time we see there's an error is in the final error check, and even then it is impossible to see the error clearly, or fix the data since we can't see it in the worksheets. We are requesting that Intuit add an ability to see and edit the data field that was incorrectly labeled as "N" by Morgan Stanley.
