Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Hi Amy,

Thanks so much for the reply. I think what's confusing me is the following language regarding filing requirements for MO (page 3, Form MO-1040):

"You do not have to file a Missouri return if you are not required to file a federal return. If you are required to file a federal return, you may not have to file a Missouri return if you:

a. are a resident and have less than $1,200 of Missouri adjusted gross income;
b. are a nonresident with less than $600 of Missouri income; or
c. have Missouri adjusted gross income less than the amount of your standard deduction for your filing status."

Would "b" apply in this case as I'm a nonresident that never stepped foot in Missouri so, the income generated would not constitute "Missouri Income" given that it's not taxable by the state? If I don't need to file a Missouri return, do I still need to go through the motions in TurboTax or can I just omit adding Missouri in the state tax filing section altogether?

Thanks again for your help. It's greatly appreciated.
