Withdrawals were made from my IRA in 2023 to satisfy the 2023 RMD plus amounts for prior years RMD withdrawals that were missed. A form 5329 for each missed year was filed and tax waivers requested in 2023. In TurboTax desktop for 2023 I checked the box "some or all of the withdrawal was an RMD". The next box is asks if the amount received applies to the RMD that needed to be taken out. Do I check the box that says "All of this distribution was an RMD" or the other box that says "Part of this distribution was an RMD"? All of the amount was for RMD's, but as explained earlier it was for 2023 and prior years as well.
