I am a senior single tax filer. This year my son, 20, my granddaughter (<1), and her mother all moved in with me. The mother and granddaughter have been I Virginia Medicaid. I pay for all household expenses, including food, clothing, out of pocket medical, etc.
Per IRS I am eligible to file my federal taxes as head of household because I provide all financial support for my granddaughter.
If I file as head of household does that interfere or stop my granddaughter's eligibility for Virginia Medicaid? My income is too high for Medicaid eligibility for myself.
