Go back through the HSA section in TurboTax. Don't enter any contribution amounts in that section that are also listed on your W-2.
- Open (continue) your return in TurboTax. In the search bar, search for hsa and select the Jump to link in the search results.
- On the screen, Tell us about the health-related accounts you had in 2023, check the box next to Health Savings Account (HSA) and select Continue.
- Remove any contributions you entered that were on your W-2. TurboTax automatically includes the amount from your W-2 in box 12 with a code W.
- Enter any post-tax (not included on your w-2) contributions - - it is very rare to have an entry in this box.
