Get your taxes done using TurboTax
In addition to what xmasbaby0 mentioned, if your provider refuses to give you their SSN, to enter the childcare expense in TurboTax you will need to:
- Go to the Tax Home page
- Select Deductions & Credits
- Under Your tax breaks, select Dependent Care Credit
- Under dependent information click on add to enter the dependents that received care and the amounts paid for each
- The next page is the provider information, click on add provider information
- Choose Other for the taxpayer identification option
- Select the type of provider as business or individual
- Then click on Provider refused to provide the Tax ID number
