That depends on the coupon so read it carefully. Some of them require you to click on a special link before you start on your taxes while others give you a code to enter when you reach the end of tax preparation.
Either way once you reach the end and before you are required to pay for your return you will be given a total amount due. If the total amount due does not agree with what you think it should be with your discount then don't pay it until after you have figured out why your discount isn't in there.
