Don't worry about the category title -- go ahead and enter under Meals while traveling. In TurboTax, this includes:
- Meals while traveling for business (alone or with business associates)
- Meal when you attend conventions, trade shows, business conferences
- Hosting a group business dinner at your home
- Hosting a group business dinner at a private club or restaurant
- Meals for potential customers or clients (at home or out)
- Business meals at a club
- Meals during hunting, fishing, rafting, skiing or similar outings with business colleagues
- The cost of meals for a business associate's spouse (and your own, if other spouses are attending)
To enter, edit or delete Meals (50% limit) in TurboTax Home & Business:
- Select BUSINESS in the banner
- Work through the opening screens until you get to How do you want to enter your business income?
- Select I'll choose what I work on
- Select Start or Edit to the right of Business Income and Expenses
- Work through the screens until you come to the Your [X] Business screen
- Scroll down to Business Expenses, and select Start or Update to the right of Other Common Business Expenses
- Scroll down the Let's write off some business expenses screen, and select Start or Update to the right of Meals (Meals while traveling)
- On the Meals screen, select Start or Update to the right of Meals: 50% Limit
- Enter your information, and continue
