What tax year(s) are you referring to? What OS? How did you install the program initially--from a CD, or did you purchase an installation file download? If you downloaded it, where did you originally get it--from TurboTax or another vendor? If a download, was the installation file lost in the crash?
For "data files", I presume you are referring to the *.taxYYYY file (YYYY=2021,2022,2023, etc.) You have to have the software for that particular year to open each year's data file. You may be able to get a copy of the program without paying again, but more info is needed.
