My question is this. I started receiving Long Term Disability Insurance payments from MetLife on Behalf of American Express in March of this year (2023). I was paying my own premiums since I joining American Express in 1998 (Long Term Disability, Supplemental Long Term and Extended Long Term in 2017). In 2022 post covid American Express started paying for all employees Long Term Disability Insurance). Now for the fun part. Based on the IRS rule that states that only portions of what the employer paid is taxable, how would I estimate my taxes due for 2023 based on my payments for LTD over 24 years and SLTD and ELTD for the past 6 years?
Any help you can provide would be great.
