@Sheherazade57 On the IT203 page 2, please review what is in the Fed vs. the NYS column.
When you went through the NY interview and chose to allocate wages which did you select for how to allocate your wages?
Then there is a section entitled Changes to Federal Income/ New Yorks addition and subtraction adjustments.
Did you at all override any forms as I'm unsure if you are using online or desktop version.
My only other concern would be when you entered your w-2. Often when you work in 1 state and live in another your employer gives you more then 1 w-2 for the same income. NY income is normally the same as Fed. Yet NJ income is higher as NJ does not allow healthcare nor 401k deductions in w-2 wages. You would only enter the w-2 once and put each state in.
Not sure I helped as we can not see what you see.
The NY interview is pretty short. Often it is easier to just remove it and start all over when you run into something strange.
