Finally got all the tax forms and just finished putting all info in Turbotax. When I printed the forms, it still shows 4/18/2023 as the deadline on the summary page. Also the penalty is much higher than when I printed the incompleted forms (with very similar info as the completed return) back in April.
I am California disaster relief area. Is Turbotax supposed to show 10/16/23 as the deadline on the summary page, and automatically waive the interest from April to October? The only thing I can think of is that I have a rental property in Texas, could that make me ineligible for the extension?
