Get your taxes done using TurboTax
David,
There are specific places where you have to enter in the 1099-NEC form and 1099-MISC forms. Each place in TurboTax will tie those types of incomes to specific places on your tax return.
The 1099-NEC form means that you earned this income from being self-employed.
You would want to enter that income information under the "Wages & Income" section of TurboTax.
There is a spot for entering in your income for self-employment.
Depending on why you received the 1099 MISC income form, there are different places where you can enter that information.
Most of the time, the 1099-MISC form is listed under the heading of "Other Common Income".
In fact, you will also see a section for 1099-NEC income under "Other Common Income" as well.
If you are still having issues, you may want to contact TurboTax directly for help.

What's a 1099-NEC?
This year many self-employed taxpayers will get IRS Form 1099-NEC for the first time.
The IRS rolled out this new form for nonemployee compensation. This info was formerly reported in box 7 of the 1099-MISC and applies to work you did as a consultant, independent contractor, or freelancer.
You should have received a 1099-NEC if you were paid at least $600 for work or services you performed as a nonemployee.
If you're a returning TurboTax customer, we'll check if last year's 1099-MISC had an amount in box 7. If it did, we'll automatically change your form to a 1099-NEC for this years taxes.
Who should still get a 1099-MISC?
You can still get a 1099-MISC for other income types, including self-employment income and services related to any rental properties you own. You may also get a 1099-MISC for miscellaneous payments like prize money, awards, and lawsuit settlements.
