Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Not really sure what is being reference here. Typically a PIN is 4-8 digits long. There are two types used when e-filing a return.

- The 5-digit PIN is your "signature" on your tax return. This PIN does not change unless the tax filer takes action to change it.

- The 6-digit PIN is a separate identity verification number issued by the IRS. This PIN "will* change every year. The IRS mails the PIN number to the tax filer every year, to the address on the last tax return that was e-filed, or to the address on IRS Form 8822 - Change of Address, if one was filed since the last tax return was filed.

- The 16-character license code required to install the CD version of TurboTax can be a mix of letters and numbers in four 4-digit groups. This is also referred to as the activation code. If this is the issue, check that your CAPS LOCK key is not on. Otherwise, digits entered may be entered as symbols if using the top row of the keyboard. Check that NUM LOCK is on if using the separate number pad to the right of the main keyboard.
