There isn't quite enough information to tell what the correct withholding should be, but that does sound low... Here are my suggestions.
- Double check the W-4 by using this W-4 calculator
- Ask the payroll department to review the W-4 with your husband, to make sure what he requested is what is being withheld.
- If still unresolved, reach out to a tax expert at TurboTax live or add more data here so we can help.
