There isn't quite enough information to tell what the correct withholding should be, but that does sound low... Here are my suggestions.
- Double check the W-4 by using this W-4 calculator
- Ask the payroll department to review the W-4 with your husband, to make sure what he requested is what is being withheld.
- If still unresolved, reach out to a tax expert at TurboTax live or add more data here so we can help. To provide more help, we would need both of your incomes, by type and information about dependents + some more (basically what's in the W-4 calculator linked above)
