Get your taxes done using TurboTax
In an effort to help protect your identity and fight tax fraud, the IRS and many state tax offices are now asking that tax filers provide their driver’s license or state-issued ID number.
Providing this info is not required to file your Federal taxes. However, in some states, omitting this info may delay the processing of your return.
If you use software to prepare your (and your spouse's, if applicable) personal income tax return, New York State requires you to include your driver's license or non-driver ID information on the return. This applies to both you and your spouse. If you or your spouse do not have a driver's license or non-driver ID, you can indicate that within the software to fulfill this requirement. See here for more information from New York.
If you currently have an interim license, you can enter the expiration date and other information from that form.
