Look on the 1040/1040SR Wks - - not Form 1040, but the worksheet. Scroll down until you see Tax Smart Worksheet. In section A - what line is the X on? That X will tell you where you can see the calculation or if A1 has the X, you would use the tax table. Not all of your income is taxed at 22%.
