Could somebody teach me how to add 1116? Or, could somebody teach me if I do not need to attach 1116?
I have
- Foreign dividend and taxes reported (less than $300) in 1099
- Foreign interest NOT reported in 1099. No foreign taxes related to this interest
Form 1116 instruction says; to claim foreign tax credit without form 1116,
All the income and any foreign taxes paid on it were reported to you on a qualified payee statement.
Since I have foreign interest not reported in 1099, it seems I have to attach form 1116. Correct?
