Get your taxes done using TurboTax

My ETRADE 1099-B lists only shares sold to cover taxes in box 1d.  So it is as if I am reporting the proceeds from the sale as my own proceeds but the true proceeds (gain) would be within box1 of my w2 if i understand correctly.  I personally have sold no shares.

For example, out of 84 shares, 48 shares were sold to cover taxes, i can see this on the etrade website but it is nowhere on the 1099-B.

So on my 1099-B etrade has this sale as proceeds of 7,000 from the 48 shares with 0.00 cost basis.

This increases my tax due by like 2,000 even though i can see these shares were sold to cover taxes on the etrade site.

From other replies here I think all i need to report is any gain since the shares were vested and taxed paid from those 48.00 shares but i am not seeing this properly and am stuck and i blame etrade.
