Turbo Tax 2022 is Adding My CT State Income Tax to Federal AGI Before Calculating Taxes
Turbo Tax 2022 is adding my CT State Income Tax withholding amount to my Federal AGI before calculating taxes, thus double counting the amount of my state withholding.
On my CT-1040, line one is my federal AGI (before any deductions). Line 2 shows my 2022 CT state income tax withholding for 2022 (from Schedule 1 Modifications to Federal AGI, and Schedule 3 Other Additions), although line 3 of that schedule states that state income tax withholding from Schedule A should NOT be entered here; only amounts deducted to arrive at federal AGI should be added on line2.
I've tried to override/correct this but am unable to do so. I called TurboTax directly to inquire about this (what appeared to be an obvious error) but was only told I would have to upgrade my TurboTax package to get the free Live Help. So apparently now all I can do is wait for my tax return to be processed and then file an amended return to get back my overpayment of tax. Am I missing something? I expected better from Turbo Tax!
