For example, in 2022, if you have 3 or more children who have valid SSNs living with you, the amount on Form 1040 or 1040-SR, line 11, must be less than $53,057 ($59,187 if married filing jointly). If not, you don't qualify. If no children who have valid SSNs lived with you, then the amount on Form 1040 or 1040-SR, line 11, must be less than $16,480 ($22,610 if married filing jointly) in order to qualify for the EIC.
