How hard can it be to indicate this limitation in your own support articles?
e.g. Can I e-file my federal Form 1040-X amended return? (intuit.com)
This article makes NO mention that TT can NOT be used to e-file an amended return past the end of the "corresponding" year (for example past 12/31/2022 for a 2021 return e-filed with TT in 2022).
Of course, I wouldn't have wasted over an hour searching for such articles if 2021 TT (fully updated) had not erroneously suggested that I e-file my amended return today (in 2023, just after filing a 2022 return that generated a carryback hence an amended 2021 return)...
So I tried, failed (didn't resort to lie about the date because that looked like a bad idea), found the article above, retried, then had to look for other articles which I when I found the current one (buried amongst others)...
