Get your taxes done using TurboTax
I admit I am having a slight difficulty understanding your question/statement. The payment made in 2023 for your state estimated tax payment would not be deductible on your 2022 Schedule A as we as individuals, are cash basis taxpayers and can only deduct what was paid in 2022. There is an exception for certain expenses paid with a credit card in 2022 and not actually paid until the credit card payment is due but that would be the exception. Payments made by check or at the state revenue department's website in 2023 will be deductible in 2023.
If you are questioning if it will be included as a 2022 tax payment on your state return it should, of course, show as a payment for 2022, even if it was made in 2023. I suggest you check the additional payments made on your state return when you print out the return itself.
