Non-Citizen Working Remote from Brazil - Taxes

Hello my friends.

First of all, in advance, thank you for your attention.

My question is simple; I'm in the US right now on a J1 Internship Visa - I'm going back to Brazil on June 5th, when my visa ends. The company that I work for asked if I wanted to keep working remote from Brazil - by doing that, do I pay taxes in the US?

My lawyer told me that's totally fine to work remote from Brazil with the condition that I get paid in reais, the current currency in Brazil.

Taxwise, should I work as a contractor or employee? Which would be the 'easiest' way for the company to hire me?

Thank you so much!
