You stated "NE will be used by my children."
Will you be preparing tax returns for dependent children? Please clarify.
Something in the software is directing a review of the Nebraska state tax return. Review your or your spouse's entries under My Info.
- Click on My Info down the left side of the screen.
- Click Edit to the right of your name and / or your spouse's name.
- Review the entries under State of residence (on December 31, 2022) and I lived in another state.
Does a W-2 or other income have a reference to Nebraska?
- Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
- Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & Income.
- Select Edit / Add to the right of Job (W-2).
- Select Edit to the right of the W-2.
- Review lines 15 through 20 for state information.
