Split mortgage interest with my partner (both on title & 1098)
I paid the mortgage 50-50 with my partner and both of our names are on the title & 1098. We want to claim the tax deduction 50-50.
However our outstanding mortgage exceeds the 750k limit. If we simply split the amount of interest paid and put them into the software, we will over claim the interest deduction. How should we make it correct in the software?
