I understand your questions. But first, you are not allowed to file a return as "single" because if you are married, you can only file as married filing separately or married filing jointly. The IRS says you cannot file as single if you are married. The second issue is you cannot file a full year resident return now. You must file a dual status return now. Then later you can amend the return to file married filing jointly and file for an ITIN with your amended return and attach a statement that you elect to file a joint return with your spouse. In the meantime you need to file a dual status return as indicated above.
