You can enter the 1099-NEC this way if it was not received for self-employment

- Other Common Income
- Select Income from a 1099-NEC
- Enter the payer's name
- EIN Number
- Amount you received
- Describe the reason for this 1099-NEC = State what it was for
- Does one of these uncommon situations apply?
- Click This is not money earned as an employee or self-employed individual,
- Do not enter any expenses, or this will be considered self-employment income.
