Get your taxes done using TurboTax
The Turbo Tax CD/desktop version did not import Fidelity 1099-B and 1099-DIV data for me. After countless hours and ridiculous attempts from the TT support team 800-446-8848) to resolve the this issue, results ultimately yielded the same:
1) Initiate Intuit connection to Fidelity Services with ID/PW credentials.
2) Shortly after connection was established, the following message appeared on the screen: Connection Complete! Success! We got your tax data. You can now return to TT.
3) Once back to TT screen, a dialog box message says: This 1099-B import was unsuccessful. Follow the steps in this article to fix.
Frustrated, I searched for possible solution(s) from the Turbotax Community Chat forum. It was from here I ran across an older discussion (2021) concerning the exact same Fidelity-import issues. As it turns out, the TT CD/Desktop version happened to be the problem. When online TT version was used, 1099 import data from Fidelity worked.
Desperate and not wanting to manually enter numerous 1099 data entries, I decided to give it a shot and called TT Premier Phone Support [phone number removed]) to discuss further. We were able to import all 1099-B and 1099-DIV date from Fidelity using the online TT version.
Hope this is helpful 😊
