When the busy icon is running, I can't interact with turbotax with the mouse or keyboard. But I did find a work-around; I think the problem is that the busy icon is running as a separate process:
- Minimize turbotax
- This leaves the busy icon still visible on screen
- Un-minimize turbotax
- This leaves the busy icon running behind turbotax, but I can then use the mouse and keyboard to drive turbotax
- Repeat any time that a busy indicator appears (which is frequently)
I checked that, after saving my return, the file had been fully written even though the "Saving return" icon was still running.
