Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Yes, Mike9241 is correct, you need to show which months you had family coverage and which months you had self-only coverage. This is how to do that in TurboTax:
- Open you return and select Federal.
- Select Deductions & Credits.
- Scroll down the list to find Medical, expand the section.
- Click Start or Revisit to the right of HSA, MSA Contributions.
- Select the type of plan you have, click Continue.
- Continue through the screens until you get to, Was (name) covered by a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) in 2022?
- Select Yes, and I had different plans types at different times of the year.
- Continue, on the next screen select the coverage type for each month.
- Click on Calculate Max Contribution Limit, then click Continue.
